About our vision.

For the past decade we have kept the community informed of our plans and efforts to get the ACT Government to agree to our vision and fulfill the approved Kippax Group Centre Master Plan which now features in the new Belconnen District Strategy.

We have submitted the concept plans presented here to the ACT Government for consideration as the latest step in our long journey to try to deliver West Belconnen residents the retail and community amenity needed in your major group centre. We hope to have a decision by Government before the end of this year.

The new Kippax Fair would be built over two stages with the expansion towards Moyes Crescent commencing first, which will also include the proposed new community hub, followed by the redevelopment of the existing shopping centre fronting Hardwick Crescent, including eliminating the slope in the centre. In addition to the retail precincts, Kippax Fair will deliver community assets including a dining and social precinct, a new community hub with meeting rooms and library and new pocket parks.

To help with the ACT’s housing crisis, the new development will deliver 300 apartments including affordable housing.

Around 800 construction jobs will be created during the development, with 500 new permanent jobs for workers in the expanded Kippax Fair.

And struggling to find parking will be a thing of the past with an additional 450 basement carparks for shoppers and visitors.

We have always strived to consult closely with the local community and keep you informed of our ideas, intentions and progress, and it is appropriate that we share this with you now as we enter this next phase of planning.
